The ceramics displayed in the widespread exhibition testify to the centuries-old client relationship that linked the Montelupine factories to the most active places in Tuscany in health care. From the first decades of the fifteenth century until the end of the seventeenth century, in fact, the master potters of Montelupo produced containers for medicines for the oldest and most famous hospital, convent and private apothecaries in Tuscany. These artefacts, embellished with the same decorations and coatings of the same glaze as the refined table majolica, ensure perfect conservation of the substances contained within them, were easy to clean and did not release odors.

The starting point of the itinerary is the Montelupo Fiorentino Ceramics Museum, but the complete itinerary includes the Santa Maria Nuova hospital, the San Marco Museum, the Galileo Museum and the Santa Maria Novella Perfume-Pharmaceutical Workshop in Florence, for then reach the Antica Spezieria Serristori in Figline Valdarno, the Spezieria di Santa Fina in San Gimignano and the Aboca Museum in Sansepolcro.
